Xiaomi Mi MIX 2 With 5.99-Inch Bezel-Less Display Launched: Price, Specification and India Launch.

2017, this year has been the year for dual cameras and bezel-less designs. And Xiaomi's Mi Mix is one such mobile which started the trend. But the sad reason is it did not reach out of China. So, now Xiaomi is launching it's successor Mi Mix 2 with higher screen to body ratio and 2017 flagship specs.

Earlier today, Xiaomi launched the Mi MIX 2 smartphone at an event in Beijing, China. The new smartphone is better in every way when compared to its predecessor, the Mi MIX. But there is another way the Mi MIX 2 is different from its predecessor, it will be launched in India.

Xiaomi’s Vice President and Head of Globalization, Wang Xiang told BGR India that the bezel-less smartphone will be coming to India. Xiang, however wouldn’t give away any specific dateline for the launch event. The news about an Indian launch was soon confirmed by XiaomiIndia head Manu Kumar Jain via a tweet.

The Xiaomi Mi MIX 2‘s USP is its bezel-less display, as well as a staggering screen-to-body ratio of 93 percent.
In fact, Xiaomi says that the new smartphone is 11.9 percent smaller than the Mi MIX, and about seven percent smaller than the Apple iPhone 7 Plus.

The regular edition of the smartphone will be available in a Black colour variant, which also features a Black lens coating for the front and rear camera, apart from an 18K gold plated camera ring on the rear camera. The smartphone features a frame built out of 7-Series aluminium, holding in the four-sided curved ceramic body. The Special Edition (seen below) features a complete ceramic body, and will be available in both Black and White colour variants.

Getting back to the 'hidden sound-guided speaker', the company details it to be a 'cantilever piezoelectric ceramic acoustic technology' that resonates the sound through the metal frame and delivers it through the screen itself  completely hiding the speaker on the smartphone. This is achieved with 50mW membrane speaker, sound guiding tube, and a sound hole. The smartphone also supports 6 modes and 43 bands - making it a 'global LTE smartphone'.

The Mi MIX 2 has been launched in three variants in China. The base model with 64GB storage is priced at RMB 3,299 (approximately Rs 32,400), the 128GB storage variant is priced at RMB 3,599 (approximately Rs 35,300), while the top-end 256GB variant is priced at RMB 3,999 (approximately Rs 39,300). There is also a limited edition Mi MIX 2 variant boasting a ceramic body, 128GB storage, and a whopping 8GB of RAM, priced at 4,699 RMB (approximately Rs 46,100). It will be interesting to see what variants come to India.
