"WINDOWS 10 ON ARM " WHAT DOES IT MEAN FOR MICROSOFT ?

Windows is trying to built one universal OS for all the hardware such as tablets , pc's , mobiles and we can see their efforts in surface pro 4 which works  full win 10 version on pc as well as tablet

ARM is the industry's leading supplier of microprocessor technology, offering the widest range of microprocessor cores to address the performance, power and cost requirements for almost all application markets.

In the recent years we have seen ARM powered processors in lots of mobiles and tablets .Recently Microsoft announced Win 10 on ARM so, what does it mean? And what does it mean for Microsoft

Microsoft is trying to create a new ecosystem for windows users and give a competition for Android and Ios users. By making Win 10 full version work on all devices means a great success for Microsoft because it increases applications and makes it so portable and one OS for all hardware.

Generally Win 10 is  a full desktop version and works only on desktop processors because it is heavy but ARM processors are used in mobiles and smart watches

Win 10 runs on ARM through a layer of emulation in order for desktop apps to work in mobile and tablet if this is possible win 10 full version can be operated on much faster , cheaper , energy efficient ,
smaller processor chips with all the cellular radios and antennas are build in one small chip which suddenly makes win 10 devices efficient .

But in order for desktop apps to work on ARM it needs to go through a translator because win 10 is complex OS running on low powered processor when compared to desktop this translator intermediates between apps and processor to make it work on mobiles and tablets .

There is also no need of cooling fan for Win 10 PC's now because of ARM and makes the devices more portable and convenient for the users to easily shift  between devices and work remains same on all the devices so we can work through our mobiles .

Microsoft is planning to launch this OS from first premium Surface mobiles  It was a bold and confusing attempt to force people into a new world of touch apps, but Microsoft made the fatal mistake of providing something that looked like Windows but didn’t function like Windows.

Windows RT couldn’t run traditional desktop apps, but it had a desktop mode and most of the regular Windows utilities that have existed for more than 25 years. Microsoft is correcting that mistake today, and taking another stab at supporting ARM processors with Windows. Starting next year, Windows 10 will be able to emulate traditional desktop apps, allowing device creators to build laptops, tablets, and phones that support the millions of existing applications in the Windows world.

Initially, Microsoft will support the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processors, and laptops are expected to be the first devices we’ll see in the market next year. Microsoft is enabling Windows 10 to support ARM chips directly by building an emulator into the operating system. Devices will be able to run x86 win32 applications like Chrome or Photoshop, but Microsoft won’t be emulating x64 variants of these apps. That’s not a huge problem as not many apps have been compiled for x64 instructions, and most that have also have an x86 counterpart. What this means is you’ll be able to buy a lightweight laptop with good battery life and support for Windows desktop apps next year

Everyone may not be excited about this news but truly this changes the way we use our mobile devices and opens a gateway to a new ecosystem .
